Analysis of occupational health and safety at skin cracker factory using Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP)

The Mubarok Skin Cracker Factory is a home industry that produces skin crackers from cowhide, raw, and cooked crackers. Based on the interviews with factory owners, there have been several work accidents, production room has very minimal lighting air ventilation. these problems, method used Hazard Operability Study (HAZOP), which aims to identify sources of hazards potential accidents in process prevent accidents. risk matrix analysis shows as much 24% classified extreme, 65% high risk, 12% moderate risk. In addition, 17 danger were found, namely knives, slippery floors, smoke, hot water, drying roofs, fire, ash flakes, tanks, wooden board, chopper, loads carried by workers, ovens, oil, frying pan, hanging boards, cramped workplaces. recommendations given researcher are apply health safety environment regulations use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for employees while working, replace damaged equipment, implement promotion factories.
